Tim Rhodes
President and Director
I was certified in scuba in 1987 while living on & working at a remote island in the South Atlantic called Ascension Island. I have over 300 dives around the world, and am an Advanced diver & Nitrox certified. I have been a believer of Jesus all my life, and been on (2) short term mission teams with my parents (Honduras & Haiti). In 2015 I discovered there was a group of Christian Divers and I quickly followed up to join the trips. I love being able to dive with fellow Christians & serve the “behind-the-resort” communities with God’s love at the same time. In 2022, the opportunity came to lead the group, and Christian Scuba Divers was born!
Susan Copelas
Vice President and Travel Coordinator
I have been a pioneer in women’s diving and youth outreach and environmental protection throughout her 45 years of diving. By founding my own dive instruction business, I have introduced and educated over 2000 in the sport of scuba diving. I have also pushed the boundaries of diving becoming the first person to dive in previously-uncharted waters as part of the first expedition retracing Ernest Shackleton’s epic 1914 trip to the Antarctic in 2005. My dedication has impacted scores of tomorrow’s ocean conservation leaders. Tireless in my efforts, I have founded three sought after high school and club outreach programs since 2008. My dedication to youth and ocean advocacy can be considered unparalleled with over 600 hours of community volunteer time given annually.
